This is the week! We finally decided on the topics we'd like to finally choose for the rest of the year in ISM. This might just be the most difficult week just because of all this decision-making! I'm going to debate all of my top three branches of mechanical engineering I could potentially dive into. Through the research I have done(check it out in the Research tab) I have decided to look at either planes or cars. All of these topics are interconnected in the field of automotive manufacturing which I'm quite curious to learn more about. I'll start off with aeroplanes and why they interest me.
First off, I'd like to detail a story from 8 years ago when I was just a wee 3rd grader. We had an assignment for different groups to construct a paper aeroplane and race them all. I'm sure you see where this is going. I chose the plane called "The Needle" and began folding and flattening what would be the best paper aeroplane ever. Now of course the rest of my classmates, being 8-year-olds, got so distracted so I built this plane for us. Wouldn't you know it, our paper plane had won the race. The pride I felt built into my continuing interest in aeroplanes and how they work for many years to come. If I begin studying aeroplanes I will be able to satisfy my inner child and all its curiosities. What this area would entail would be understanding the parts and functions of aeroplanes including the mechanics and structural design process for building aircraft.
Now, to look at cars. I frankly just know nothing about cars which makes me that much more interested in it. I would be stoked to know the inner workings of all the types of cars and the terms that define it like throttle and fuel intake. It would especially help as basic knowledge for my very near future when my family would buy a car! I honestly think learning about the mechanics behind cars and their structural designs would be beyond useful and fun especially to put in my skills toolbox.
I am still very stuck between my two options and I may be for a little while but we'll see where this year takes me!
I think you should do aeroplanes! You seem much more interested in that.
