I love pie. Apple Pie. Coconut Cream Pie. Pecan Pie. Key Lime Pie. Raspberry Pi.

The Raspberry Pi is a machine of power. It is a versatile, low-cost, single-board computer used for various applications. Known for its modular yet high-powered design, this mini-computer is central to my final product.

It’s funny, really, how a dessert and a device can share a name but satisfy such different cravings. While one delights the taste buds, the other feeds my curiosity. For my final product, the Raspberry Pi is the brain behind the operation.

With it, I am building something that integrates practicality with vision: a compact productivity tool filled with features like a calendar, to-do list, motivational quotes, and maybe even a joke of the day (because a little daily humor goes a long way). All of that is being powered by this unassuming piece of hardware, tucked neatly into a 3D-printed encasing I have been prototyping.

I chose the Raspberry Pi not just for its affordability but for what it represents: the ability to turn simple ideas into tangible systems. It’s the kind of technology that makes innovation feel accessible- like anyone with a good idea and some elbow grease can build something impactful.

In a way, I think of this project like a pie, too, where each piece is a component- the calendar, to-do lists, meditation set, and jokes- all coming together to form something complete, comforting, and useful. And like baking, it’s a mix of precision and play. Sometimes, I follow instructions; other times, I experiment. Sometimes, I overcook the code. But always, I’m learning.

So yes. I love pie. But the kind I’m building? It doesn’t need whipped cream; it just needs power, WiFi, and maybe a motivational quote to get things rolling.
