As I wrap up my final product and begin to prepare for the Final Presentation Night which is only a week away (ah so exciting!) I wanted to unite all of the research and creation I've done into a common theme. This theme would be characterized by my mission statement, projects, research, and interviews. I had to think long and hard for me to come up with the following word: springboard.
I like to think of the springboard in the context of diving into a pool. To have a good spring, a diver would jump downwards on the springboard's edge before getting shot up into the air and then landing in the water. This springboard encapsulates my year in ISM because just like the diver, I had to jump downwards into my research (the springboard) before being able to soar. They also say the harder the diver jumps into it, the higher they'd go. The same thing drove me here; I jumped into researching articles interviewing people and practicing my CAD designing skills which would be the foundation for me to go high.
I'm about to soar but if we take this analogy even further, to soar and land properly I'll need to be prepared. In the same way a diver would need to prepare by wearing their swimming attire, I'll need to prepare by ensuring my invites reach the invitees and that my presentation is where it needs to be.
We're so close to landing in the water and this intangible springboard is what pushed me here. The foundational knowledge has sprung me into the air and with a little bit of preparation, I will soar! The end is in sight!
