Buzzing Fly

A fly buzzed its way into my room an hour ago.  The tiny insect- hardly a quarter of a centimeter in diameter- disrupted the peace of an entire 132-square-foot room. At first glance, it seems like an unremarkable occurrence in assumably millions of homes, yet it got me thinking. How can such a tiny being with little to no strength or consciousness have the ability to shift the aura of an entire room?

That made me think how one might just say the same thing about a mere human being able to influence the entire world. That’s the beauty of it. It’s the same way mere humans can make their way to the moon or develop entire languages out of sounds and symbols. We humans increasingly have the potential to change the world. I can change the world. You can change the world.

However, garnering this spiritual innovation that exists inside every one of us is one of the most difficult things we can do in our lives. Yet, that’s why we have careers: to be able to orient our interests and talents to something bigger. That’s why the ISM program exists: to nurture a new generation of innovators driven by what they bring to the table.

With that philosophy in mind, I’d like to focus on my impact on the world with a new, rejuvenated outlook on it all. After all, we just need a buzz in our flight to shift the world.
